Into the Forest we go.... One of Mornington Peninsula's Hidden Gems for Family Adventures and Family Photography!

Do I love the beach? Yes. Do I love Golden Hour at the beach? Yes. But there is something so whimsical about a forest! If you are looking for a little adventure with your family, or a great spot for some family photography, read on...

Shoreham Pine Forest on the Mornington Peninsula gives you a bit of both - there's the beautiful forest with it's dappled sunlight peeking through, red forest floor, tall trees with lush green vines snaking their way to the top, AND then there is also the beach backdrop, with a staircase path leading you down to yellow sand and (if the tide is just right) ocean rockpools.

This little pine forest is a great option for family photo sessions, particularly with young children who love to explore and use their imaginations (is that a cave I see? Does the Gruffalo live here?!). Allow them to roam freely, explore, gather pine cones, sit and climb on logs and play peek-a-boo around towering trees. Have fun, play together and watch the magic happen!

It's equally a beautiful spot for maternity or couples photo sessions - I mean, who doesn't love nature, with it's rich and vibrant colours. Unlike some locations which often look best on a beautiful sunny day or at Golden Hour, forest photos can be just as striking on a moody, overcast day and this can add quite an emotive, more intimate feel to your images.

And a general PSA to anyone taking photos in this cool little spot - just remember to take a glance behind you every so often when you're walking backwards, in case you happen to trip over a giant log and land on your bum in front of your clients.
